They school during daylight hours, and they fan out at night to hunt as individuals.<BR/><BR/>They're not scary. They're really beautiful. They do this languorous water ballet.<BR/><BR/>I was positioned about 20 meters (60-some feet) below the barracuda school for this shot. My husband and I swam with barracuda in Bermuda some years back. All of a sudden they were just there and they swam past us and didn't bother us at all. We were snorkeling and just remained cool. This magnificent barracuda school is a prime attraction for divers who visit Sipadan, an oceanic island in the Celebes Sea, off the coast of the Malaysian side of Borneo.
