That is a nice shot. I was wondering how you identify all the creatures? Where did you pick up all the knowledge you have?

Everytime I see your photos I feel like I've been on an undersea journey. I've told you I enjoy them a lot, right? :-) Thanks for participating in Watery Wednesday! :-)

I like to see sharks.......in photos. Don't you worry when you dive with all these sea creatures?

I think I have visited your site before on a WW! Great picture, the ocean is so peaceful, calming in this chaotic time....

That's a cute little fellow. Say, you sure get around.

I thought sharks are scary, but this one seems to be a calm one. Nice shot!

Hi Bobbie - perhaps your shark is looking for its mama? Come see mine, maybe you'll find it there.
I entitled my WW entry for this week as "Emulating Bobbie" :)

Great shot but I think that would be the point at which I needed to get out of the water.

That shot is just incredible. It's one of those that only comes along for a professional nature photographer once every couple years.

Amazing how much I love watching them, but how terrified I'd be to be in the water with them...

Beautiful shot of a beautiful creature.

Little shark, I think? I'm using the coral as a scale.

Gosh, if I could only live another life I would try to follow your steps. You find such wonderful and interesting life, mostly in the sea. Thank you.
Happy WW! Thank you for your visit and your nice comment.
..
BTW, do you ever just BBQ one of those little sharks? They do that here along the Texas coast.

Hello again, thanks for stopping by. To answer your question about one of the photos I posted, the sign is for boaters, It is too far off shore to see. We were on a boat tour ourselves. There were also similar sized signs warning boaters to be aware that manatees were in the area, though we were never fortunate enough to see one. Just as well for the manatees as there seemed to be some fast moving boats around. Ours was a pretty slow chuggalong, which made for a more enjoyable ride.

Great photo, the water is almost invisible, it's so clear and still.

Thanks, everyone, for visiting -- and for your feedback, which is always appreciated.

@ Will -- I "picked up all the knowledge" over the course of many, many years of diving and being around critters in the ocean -- and taking the time, and making the effort, to find out as much as I can about them. And you have just given me a good idea for a future post!

@ 2Sweet - If you feel like you are on an undersea journey when you visit The Right Blue then I have accomplished one of my goals! ;-}

@ ZJ - I saw your post even before you mentioned it here -- and I very nearly fell off my chair. Emulating Bobbie? My goodness, how flattering! (And you did a super-duper job with that shark photo!)

@ CatSynth -- Yes, it was a little guy -- maybe 18 inches long (although I didn't measure...) Not a newborn, but definitely a young one, which is probably why it was trying to hide beneath that coral.

Several people commented that they would not have liked to be that close to this shark. Trust me when I say that although I was a mere foot or two away from the shark, taking this photo put me in virtually no danger. In fact, the danger that sharks pose to divers is minimal in most circumstances. Perhaps I should write a post about that, too!
