Great shot.Absolutely beautiful as usual..Happy WW:)Thanks for stopping by my friend.
That... is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for bringing it to the surface for the rest of us to enjoy!
Cool and it's a great color. I'm wondering, I can't tell from the pic if it's kind of a stiff plant or flowy like some other undersea plants.
Thanks for participating in Watery Wednesday! :-)
Beautiful! The red with all the blue really stands out. It looks to me like it would be an irritant if you touched them?
Happy WW!
They look like whips, they are very pretty. Since they are soft are they no good for carving?
Happy WW, thank you for visiting and leaving your questioning comment.
The machine I found was sitting on the RR tracks on the Italian Riviera, at Cornigulia I believe.
I have no idea what it was, it seemed to be used for RR maintenance.
We could call it a motorized handcar?
..
Looks spiky though it's soft corals :)
Beautiful underwater shot!
Beautiful shot. I love the contrasting colors. I'm curious, though. Do they sway in the water (thus being called "whips") or are they more solid and stiff?
Your underwater pictures remind me in some ways of the desert - colorful things really stand out.
Just beautiful!! I love the colors!!
Happy WW!!
Hi Everyone -
I can see by the comments so far that you all are trying to figure out if these sea whips are soft or not. I probably confused the issue by mentioning that they are a kind of soft coral.
First, let me say that soft corals are "soft" relative to hard corals, but they are not squishy soft. Hard corals are the reef-building ones that build stony structures.
These particular sea whips are fairly rigid in structure (otherwise they would droop), but they're also flexible. They can bend in a current, for instance.
Hope this clear things up a bit. ;-}

or it could be tall prairie grass with snowstorm moving in from the western horizen......
That water looks so blue and warm. Our water is hard now and we are walking on it. 7 (or 8) months til break up.
Another wonderful shot! Happy WW
I really want to visit Indonesia again someday but I think I may need to take some dive lessons first!
Beautiful!
It's lovely under the sea - thanks for sharing what most of us would never see.
Stunning! And so mysterious. Thanks.
Love the colour and long slender shapes of the coral! Beautiful!
That's amazing ! Looks like a bush under water ! Beautiful !
Always beautiful, what a glorious world. If only we could take better care of it.
Cool shot! I've never heard of sea whips before.
Nice shot. Thanks for your visit earlier. Happy WW! :)

Those colors are so beautiful.
This is a great watery shot. Love the red. I painted a dolphin with coral like that in my painting.
Wow, the red really stands out. Very nice capture!
picture perfect! i love it.
Here's mine. Thanks!
Wow, what a great photograph, lovely contrast of colors.
I love coral. Soft or hard. I just find it so mesmerizing to look at and study.
Nice work.
What a great picture.I would never be able to go that far under water to see how pretty it is.
I am ever amazed at the beautiful colors beneath the sea.
i love orange and blue mixed. have you seen the movie The Darjeeling Express? it has lots of that color combo. and it's very interesting, to boot.
I assume that is a type of coral. A very nice one at that.
Thanks to all of you for visiting and commenting on the photo. I appreciate it.
