WW #46 - In case of shark attack...

DIVER TIP: Never enter the water without one of these Hawaiian Shark Sticks!

"If attacked by shark or moray eel, hold stick vertically and insert into animal's mouth to prevent closing of jaw... If the animal should bite you, insert stick in animal's eye and push. DO NOT BLEED! This will only excite the shark or eel..."

My sense of humor has always kept me away from the skars.

Great photo!

But what if the shark comes at you with a pointed stick? Or worse, a banana?

as long as your "scents" of humor doesn't smell like blood, I guess.

Too funny! At first I thought it was a real item. Gullible, I guess!

My Wordless Wednesday Post is up and I am again looking for an answer to a puzzle. Check it out and see if you can help figure out what it is. Comment and leave a Mr Linky to your site.

A bit of dark humor goes along way in perilous waters. ;)

Too funny! We spent the last week in the states glued to the TV each evening at the hotel watching shark week. I didn't see this thing mentioned even once. Maybe they will fix the oversight next year.

Life saving tip - hope i will have the presence of mind to use it.

Yes, the shark stick. That'll keep the sharks away. I feel safer already...

Happy WW

I've heard stories about this stick before. I hope it works and also that I will never have to use it :o)

From the "Natural Selection Shop" - that's great!

If you're dumb enough to use this item, then its just proof that your not fit enough for survival.

I love it!

(I hope the sarcastic misspelling comes through!)

(It seemed like a good idea, but looking at my post, it just looks like I'm a candidate for shark food.)

People always come up with such interesting and simple items to over-charge tourists for.

Well, Bobbie you sure made me laugh! Can you imagine trying to stick that thing in the shark's mouth the way it's illustrated on the package? And also sticking the shark in the eye but making sure sure not to make him bleed? Ha! I'd just be screaming silently underwater if I came across a shark...maybe not nursing sharks though... I've been in the water with them already. :)
Say hi to Jerry!

That's priceless. I have to send this link to a friend of mine who's an open water diving instructor. She'll howl. And she could use a few laughs right now.

Thanks!

I think I would try and make friends with him rather than giving him a sharp stick in the eye.

Jenn said...

Haha! I didn't see that item at the aquarium when we went a few months ago! We need to check back, that is definitely something to have in case of a shark emergency, especially since we are at Shark's Cove every weekend!

Good one! Happy WW!

"Do not bleed."

Fantastic!

Gabriel said...

I don't know why, but I have the impression that the stick might not be 100% effective... ;-)

That was very funny. Happy WW!

This looks... useful??

Too funny! I don't want to be close enough to shove a stick in his mouth.

Thanks for visiting my quilt barn post!

Shireen said...

heheh...that's a good one. I will remember that the next time I'm in the waters!! Thanks for the laugh..I so needed it :-)

Jim said...

Hi Bobbie, I think that stick might work. But wouldn't we be tempted to run if one came at us with mouth open that large!
I hope your WW was happy, thank you for the visit and nice comment, mine was the lady in the bar window and the many bicycles and the one that you liked. :-)

This product NOT unconditionally guaranteed

I wonder how many people lodged a complaint to get that put on the package?

Great shot. You had me going at first.

Yes I need that shark stick also to push the boat away from the dock perhaps....funny post there blue...cheers.

Well, now, there we go. A stick to handily put in the mouth of a shark (or eel). I'm thinking not so much. Chances of me being that close to a shark are nil. Pretty darned funny, though!!

And I'm on the same track as Dennis - "or worse, a banana?" ROTFL!!

BNS said...

Hi everybody. Thanks for visiting. Looks like everybody got the joke. ;-}

Bobbie & Jerry.

Ok, so I know that this is probably not the correct post to ask you about this, but oh well. I want to purchase a set of Merrells. Now, I personally wanted some ankle support, but the mid height ones seem to go really high and limit your movement. Any suggestions?

BNS said...

Hi ScienceGuy - Actually, we're not familiar with Merrells, but generally speaking -- ankle support usually is a good thing. Maybe you need to consult with someone who actually uses Merrells themselves. ;-}

I had to giggle when I read this. I'm from Hawai'i and never did spend an overextended amount of time in the ocean because of sharks-well,that and I'm not a very good swimmer.

BNS said...

Hi Aloha Monkey - Glad to know it gave you a chuckle. If you're fearful of sharks, maybe you should get one of those shark sticks! ;-}

Thanks for sharing such a nice advice.Shark is a very dangrous.We should be beware of fatal shark attacks. You can find sharks in New Smyrna Beach in Florida, Oahu beach, hawaii beach. Though floating shark are available on some beach,but it is of little help.
