These are Fusilier Fish. We call them the speed demons of the reef because they zoom along in a dense pack. Check out yesterday's post for more pictures of these guys.
I took the photo at Sipadan Island, not far from where I took last week's photo of the schooling barracuda.
Happy Wordless Wednesday.
Bobbie
These fish are a fabulous shade of blue.
I'm in NH this week (and next)qzyl. All I can think of are ticks. I've been here two days and I already miss Alaska.
There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home.......................................Dang, it's not working.
That's Blue!
Looking very busy there ;)
Actually, it reminds me a bit of the famous Escher drawing, but in bright blue.
Wow. That is REALLY gorgeous!
Gorgeous picture ! I see it on a wall , without frame !
Wow! I had to click it larger to see what was going on. What a traffic jam! Beautiful.
Thanks for the comment on my WW post. I had it go up automatically and had forgotten it was WW until I saw your comment.
Wow that's an amazing shot. I know when I come here I'm going to see something special!
That is really beautiful. The ocean is so vibrant!
Wow...these fish are absolutely amazing... the color in the shot is breathtaking...how did you manage this one. Great shot...thnks for sharing! Happy WW! Thanks for stopping by my site!
Great stopping (for a photo op) of those speed demons. We have speed demons in our muddy creek water, and then there are the minnows trolling along in the slow lane.
Happy WW! I enjoy all the 'blue' you present on your blog.
..
I'd much prefer that rush hour to ours.
Wow! Now that's the kind of traffic I'd love to see! Beautiful photo...
stunning as ever
I laugh, Bobbie! All forms of life have a rush hour! Ha! Say hi to Jerry :)
wow, what a great shot...
mine is up. hope you can drop by:
Roller Coaster
View from Victoria Peak
Happy WW!
Beautiful photo! It must be amazing to be in the middle of all that activity.
Lovely! The fish have such an intense look on their faces at the larger image size... Just like human commuters in the morning.
Oh wow, this is a dream land.Beautiful shot. happy WW.
Great pictures and thanks for the info. Love the deep blue color.
They are a such a beautiful blue color - especially against the reef. Well done!!
If only we could take lessons about driving during rush hour...I don't see any accidents in there.
Happy WW
Looks like Jakarta traffic under the sea. Except the only speed demons in raffic here are the motorcycles! The packers arrive today to haul all of our stuff away, yuck. We only have about 3 weeks left to enjoy Jakarta.
What an awesome pic...Id love to reach and and grab one just to do it. Happy WW and thanks for stopping by:)
Thanks you all very much for visiting and commenting on this week's Wordless Wednesday photo.
@ Cathy (tundra) - I'll bet you forgot to click your heels! :-p
@ Sukhmandir - Yes, welcome to The Right Blue.
@ Catsynth - Sometimes bright blue is The Right Blue. ;-}
@ Cecily - Thank you.
@ Gattina - Interesting that you would like to see this on the wall without a frame. Hmm.
@ Will - Thanks, and I know what you mean -- time just slips past sometimes.
@ Jams - Thank you so much. I enjoy the photos you post on your blog, too. Love your flower macros, in particular.
@ Sandy C - Thank you.
@ Chris - Not sure what you meant by how did I manage it, but how about this: good scuba gear and a fast shutter speed on the camera. :-}
@ Jim - Thank you. I wonder what the minnows in your creek would do if these fish invaded!
@ Randall & Ellen - I prefer this kind of rush hour to those on city streets, too.
@ Keith - Thank you so much.
@ Mary - Thanks, and Jerry says "hi" back!
@ Abie - Thank you.
@ Susan - Thank you. Yes, we've never grown tired of "being there."
@ Kallie - I'm glad you took the time to look at their individual faces.
@ Maya - Thank you. This shot does have a dreamy kind of look to it.
@ Brian & Kathy - Thank you both. We're glad that others like blue as much as we do.
@ Vixen - Nope. No traffic accidents there.
@ Shannon - My own memories of Jakarta are of some of the most intimidating traffic I've ever seen anywhere. Enjoy your last few weeks in Indonesia, and good luck with your move. I hope it's as painless as possible.
Bobbie
What can I say... beautiful, astonishing, breathtaking, incredible.
The usual stuff coming from you...
My WW post is here. Have a great day, and thanks for dropping by!
Bobbie , stunning wordless wednesday! It is always great to see what you are finding under the water now days!
Wow! That is such an amazing photo. I love how it looks like something other than fish, and then when you look closer, you see that they actually are fish. Very lovely and beautiful blues!! :D
Amazing! I can see why it's a favorite. :-)
It's probably a fairly silly question, but do you ever get run into by fish?
Very neat image Bobbie, I love the blue in this, they have a three-dimensional look to them !!
Thank you all very much.
@ Chris -- The short answer is no, the longer answer here. ;-}
