Two weeks ago I posted a photo of Jerry and our friend Joe on a wreck. This week's photo of Jerry was taken on the same wreck -- the Zenobia, which sank in 1980 off the coast of Larnaca, Cyprus.

We're telling the story of our seven dives on this wreck as a multi-part series here on The Right Blue. If you'd like to read along, here's the link to the first episode.

Happy WW.

Now this looks deep! How many feet down is it? Your first episode had ship's dimensions but didn't say.

Great photo. I just saw a WW photo a rusting barrels, and now your shipwreck photo. Very different, but it's interesting how they both play on the theme of "ruins."

I'll be back for more of the series.

I read the series first. It must be so fascinating to do a dive like that. Nice shot too.

Did you look for buried treasure???

That's very cool, and very pretty! Did you take it yourself?

I love how you've framed the photo to show all the space above the wreck and the diver. Really gives the viewer a sense of depth.

Thank you all for visiting and for your nice comments. We're delighted that so many of you seemed interested in reading the stories, too.

To those of you who wondered how deep this was. The ship was lying in about 42-43 meters of water (around 140 feet). This photo was taken at a depth of about 16 meters (around 52 feet).

@ Mel - I'll go have a look, but to be honest, that doesn't sound like the type of meme that is appropriate for The Right Blue, but maybe for my other blog...

@ Robert - No buried treasure of the pirate type, if that's what you're thinking, but there certainly were a lot of 'gems' to see on that wreck. :-D

@ Frigga -- Of course I took the picture myself -- with the help of my favorite underwater model, Jerry. ;-}
