Here's Jerry interacting with some very tame Lined Butterflyfish (Chaetodon lineolatus) at Honaunau, Hawaii. The Lined Butterflyfish is the largest butterflyfish species here in Hawaii.
This is a wonderful picture. I doubt if I would ever see any except here. Well, are they good to eat? Even if they are, they would be too pretty for eating. Happy WW! Thank you, yes, Adi is cute most of the time. :-) ..
Hi Wordless Wednesday fans. Thank you all for stopping by.
@ Jim, not these are not food fish.
@ ZJ - it depends, but on average, about an hour at a time.
@ Pamela & Jos - We were wondering if anyone would notice that Jerry and the fish were color coordinated. Heh heh. It was not done on purpose, but it did work out well, didn't it?
@ Martie - These fish kept returning and sort of nibbling on Jerry's glove. We think they must have been fed by other divers before us. They were much friendlier than individuals of their species usually are.
I should revise my previous entry regarding naturally occurring color, stating that I'm only referring to surface colors. How quickly I forget that there's so much incredibly vibrant color underwater!
I always marvel at underwater photography...technically, but too because I know I'll never be there for it. Thanks for letting me experience it vicariously! Happy WW.
aloha bobbie, looks like you have got a great crowd of fans and followers for your ocean life photography. even though i am not a photographer but with hawaii in my heart and mind, i love your tropical fish photos. please, drop in on mondays when i do 'my hawaii photo of the week'. see you on monday on my blog! aloha, pua
@ Bernie - Thank you. The color combination was by chance in this case, but it worked out well.
@ Pua - I will definitely stop by your Best Hawaii Vacation blog on Monday, and I encourage everyone else to go and have a look at the wonderful Hawaii photos there. (The one of Hanauma Bay this past week was stunning.)
The Right Blue refers to the goal of a lifelong pursuit. Sea water viewed from beneath the surface comes in many hues and shades. Surfers wait for the perfect wave; divers seek the right blue.
